INTRODUCING OUR NEW DIRECTOR:
MS. DANIELLE LACROIX
We are delighted to introduce to you our new Preschool Director, Ms. Danielle Lacroix: the next capable, empathetic leader of Grace Weekday Preschool. We believe Ms. Lacroix’s kind, welcoming spirit and depth of early childhood education expertise will make her just the right match with the strong community at Grace.
From 2015-2023, Ms. Lacroix directed The Hill Preschool, a small play-based preschool located in the Washington City Church of the Brethren. Ms. Lacroix was respected and beloved by parents, families, and teachers alike. Her references praised her dedication; vast knowledge of preschool education; empathetic spirit in dealing with each child, parent, and teacher; empowerment and retention of staff; and impressive leadership through the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ms. Lacroix has presented at early childhood conferences and consulted with Wolf Trap and Smithsonian on arts and museum education for young children. She holds her BA with a focus on Early Childhood Education from Lesley University and has completed Masters-level coursework in early childhood instruction and curriculum at George Mason.
Ms. Lacroix loved her own children’s experience in church preschools years ago and is excited to direct in a setting grounded in church-community collaboration and Christian values. She will start in the preschool office on May 6, getting to know our preschool alongside Mrs. Phillips through the end of the school year. Please stop by and greet her as we welcome her to our school community!
