HOI Comments Grace's Honduras Involvement

Grace Church has been going to Honduras for 11 years and there has been many improvements to the standard of living the region as decribed in the attached letter from HOI.

Dear Supporters of Honduras Outreach, Inc.,

The results are staggering!  In 1990, when HOI first began, the infant mortality rate in our service area was 68 deaths per 1000 births: in 2010 it was 1 in 1000.  The immunization rate in 1990 was 15% : in 2010 it was 97%!  This was achieved by the combined efforts of our various ministries, the help from many dedicated, caring people and through God’s guidance.

Have you wondered what kind of a difference your involvement in HOI has made in the Agalta Valley of Honduras?  It may be that you’ve sponsored a child’s education, donated funds to a particular program or participated in a week of mission work. Whatever your role has been, be assured that you have made an impact and we hope you will help us to continue in our mission endeavors.

This month, we will be graduating the first class of high school seniors at our school in Culuco. By offering these students the opportunity to continue with their education, it has given them a different outlook on their future. There are now more possibilities for their future and starting a family at a young age is not their only option. (A donation of $600/yr. sponsors a student)

Through the work of our medical staff, nutrition program and volunteer medical/dental teams, the overall health of the villagers has improved enormously, as mentioned in the statistics above. (A donation of $340/mo. sponsors a nurse’s salary)

Communities have learned how to work together and have acquired new skills because of the efforts from our mission teams. This encouragement and love through a Christian partnership has changed the mindset of these villagers.  They now work together to make improvements and solve problems in their community. (A donation of $125 will give a family a cement floor in one room)

HOI’s pastoral leadership classes have nurtured 17 students this year, who will be respected spiritual leaders and mentors in their own communities. (A donation of $125/yr. supplies the curriculum for a student)

The participation of veterinarian teams in our agriculture program has educated the villages on animal care so they can produce healthy livestock, in order to provide food for their families. (A donation of $1000 buys a bull for breeding)

Even though many improvements have been made, there is still much to do and HOI is committed to continue in these efforts. Your financial support, at any level, will give us the means to do so.

Throughout the past 21 years, God has blessed us and has used us as His messengers, encouragers, teachers and workers.  The efforts put forth have yielded many fruits, not only in the lives of the Honduran people but also in the lives of the North Americans.

We hope you will prayerfully consider sending a tax deductible donation to HOI at this time.  The following link will allow you to donate easily through our website https://www.hoi.org/donate_online or checks can be mailed to the HOI office: 4105 Briarcliff Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30345.

HOI is also prepared to handle giving through stock donations and you may contact me personally if you would like to discuss this further.

The needs of our organization are great but we know that God is faithful and will provide for the needs of His mission.

On behalf of the Ranch and Atlanta HOI staff, we wish you a joyous, spirit-filled Thanksgiving and Christmas and many blessings in the upcoming year.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers,

Laurie Willing
