Members of Grace Presbytyerian Church gather in Wester Hall for the Honduras Mission’s Fiesta. Fiesta is intended to raise money to support Grace’s mission to Honduras where they help build houses and upgrade houses with sanitary facilities. The money, raised by a silent auction, and donations for the meal helps defray some of the costs as well as providing assistance for those who wish to go but are challenged by the cost. Dr. Ben Trawick and Kathy and Jim Drinkard are among the 15 or so members of Grace Presbyterian Church hosted by the Institute for Islamic and Turkish Studies for an iftar dinner ending the day’s fast. Muslims fast during Ramadan from dawn until dusk. This includes abstaining from drinking, eating, immoral acts and anger. Other acts of worship such as prayer, reading the Quran and charity are also encouraged during Ramadan. Muslims also believe that the Quran was revealed in Ramadan. Grace’s new steeple arrives on-site. The new steeple, constructed by Stealth Concealment Solutions, Inc., of North Charleston, S.C., is a 6500-pound fibreglas piece, is one of two sections that will replace Grace’s old steeple.
