Sunday School is an essential component of religious education at Grace Presbyterian Church. From September to May of each year Grace offers many opportunities to learn and grow in mind and spirit for young and old. Our Sunday School Hour is from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., between our two services, allowing for our congregation to attend Sunday School immediately before or after their attendance at the services. Check this area regularly to see the classes a current list of classs. As for the younger members of our congregation, our devoted team of caring Sunday School teachers provide Bible lessons and education aimed at different age group levels.
Current Adult Education Opportunities 10am Sundays
Who is the Holy Spirit?; Classroom #1 - What does the Holy Spirit do? How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit? This six-week class unpacks and examine the Spirit of God and how He guides us. Based on Questions of Life, by Nicky Gumbel, this small group format grapples with and lends insight into how we experience the Holy Spirit. Beth Jenkins Smith, a frequent storyteller for Bridges of Worship, weaves together scripture and fosters discovery about the unmistakable power and mystery of the Spirit. For more information, contact Beth at ejenkinssmith@cox.net.
The Five Love Languages; Family Room - Every person needs to hear love in a “language” they can understand, but sometimes the way one person expresses love speaks right past the most important people in their lives! This class will help participants understand the different “love languages,” figure out their own, and learn how to better fill their partner’s “love tank.” Although this class will focus on couples, the same principles apply to relationships between parents and children. Pastor Erin will lead this class, using the book and short videos from Gary Chapman’s work of the same name. Contact Erin at 3005pastor2@gracepresby.org for more information.
Spanish Bible Class; Classroom #12 - This class currently follows an International Lector series titled “Lecciones Cristianas”. Although the reading material and discussions are in Spanish, all are welcomed.
Parents of Teens Group; Classroom #8 - This group will begin reading Hal Runkel’s Screamfree Parenting: The Revolutionary Approach to Raising Your Kids by Keeping Your Cool. All are welcomed – please just come as you are! Contact Kent Ford for more information at fordrk@cox.net.
Current Children's Education Opportunities
Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Remember this! Whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it. Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them." (Mark 10: 14-16, TEV). Children's Discipleship encompasses all facets of children's worship, education, music, family fellowship, and nursery care. Through these activities, Grace enables families to further their child's knowledge of God and relationship with Jesus Christ. Grace's professional staff and dedicated volunteers offer a wide variety of age-appropriate spiritual development and fellowship activities for children and their families throughout the calendar year. For further information, contact Glenda Etchison, Elder for Children's Discipleship.
