Bridges to Worship is Grace's worship initiative for children ages 4-3rd grade. Children may join our loving volunteers to Room 14 after Time for Children during both the 9 am and 11 am Sunday services.
Bridges to Worship prepares children for worship by deepening their understanding of Christian stories, symbols and rites while cultivating a language for their spirituality. A liturgy is followed, including prayer, music and creative expression and storytelling-style sermons. Stories are told using miniature crafted objects in the Godly Play method.
Volunteers serve in two capacities, and are needed for both services weekly to assist and facilitate worship time. Anyone interested in volunteering may contact Laura Bouchard, Bridges to Worship Coordinator, at (703) 415-6546 or labbouchard@gmail.com
Storytellers are needed weekly for the 11 am worship service. Storytellers lead worship by following a prescribed liturgy. Using scripts and miniature figures, biblical stories are brought to life through the rich and imaginitive Godly Play method.
Gatekeepers are needed weekly at the 9 am and 11 am worship services. Gatekeepers prepare children for worship time, and assist the Storyteller.
